Out of 60 entries judges have whittled it down to 10 finalists in four categories. The winners will be announced at an awards ceremony in spring, which will also mark the end of a year of anniversary celebrations for the Yorkshire Dales National Park. The short listed buildings for the Best Buildings competition are as follows:

Best new house(s) or extension - Lynchets, Conistone; Listers Cottage, Malham
Best conversion - Peggleswright, Dent; Kilnsey Old Hall; Guys Villa, Long Preston; Feetham Holme, Grinton
Best new non-residential building - Bolton Abbey Estate Office; West Burton Village Hall
Best new farm building - Raisgill Farm, Buckden; Bushy Lodge Farm, Starbotton
